Background: Acromegaly is a rare endocrine disorder characterized by sustained hypersecretion of growth hormone (GH) with concomitant elevation of insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) associated with acral enlargement, sleep apnea, cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.
